Instructions for Lookout I,
II and My Buddy model Dog Car Seats
Step 1: Connect
the included seat belt strap to your vehicle's
lap portion of the seat belt. It has a
quick-connector, so it can be installed and
removed easily.
Step 2: Put
your seat belt through the back slot of the car
seat, so that the lap portion of the seat belt -
which has the connecting seat belt strap - is now
located inside the back of the dog car seat.
Pull your seat belt through the other slot of
the dog car seat and fasten in your vehicle.
Your dog car seat is now securely attached in
your car seat.
Step 3: The
car seat strap has a metal quick connector on
the end that can now be attached to your pet's
harness D-ring. The strap is adjustable, so you can now
make the strap longer or shorter depending on
your preference. It is always a good idea to not
allow too much slack in the strap, so your dog
remains securely in place inside the car seat at
all times. Always
use a harness with your dog car seat and NEVER attach straps to your
dog's collar.
Lookout Console Dog Car Seats These seats fit between your vehicle's front
bucket seat, so make sure you select the proper
size, measuring your console space first before
buying. The Console car seats are designed for
smaller, teacup-sized and toy dog breeds.
Step 1: Connect
two included straps to each bucket seat. You can
adjust both straps, and in many cases,
many customers simply leave the straps installed
at all times, even when they
have removed their console seat from the car. Each strap has
a quick connector on the end that you attach your
console into when in use.
Step 2:
Place
your car seat on the console between the two
bucket seats. Use the strap on the console to loop around your car console and
adjust for a tight fit. The car seat console
also has a back lip that will help keep it from
moving forward when in use.
Step 3: Now
connect the two straps on your bucket seats to
the console car seat, attached the included
strap to your dog's harness D-ring and you are ready
to go! Always use a harness
with your car seat and NEVER attach straps to
your dog's collar.
Lookout Perch Much like the regular lookout dog car seats,
the Perch used your vehicle's lap belt to secure
it. The back quilted fabric has an elastic strap
sewn into it that allows you to put it over your
seat's head rest. Remember that the HALF bench
can be used in both your front and back seat,
while the
FULL bench is so large that it will only work in
your back seat.
Step 1: Two
connecting straps are sewn into the perch seat.
Both have quick connectors, so you can install
and remove the perch quickly. Put your
perch on the car seat, move your car seat
belt lap portion through the connecting straps
of the perch.
Step 2:
Fasten your car seat belt to your vehicle at
this point and your perch is now secure.
Step 3:
Install the included seat belt strap on to the
lap portion of your car seat belt, and use the
quick connector on the end of the strap to
secure it to your dog's harness D-ring. Always
use a harness with your car seat and NEVER attach straps to your dogs collar.
Standard and Deluxe Booster Seats This seat does not use your vehicle's seat
belt system to secure it to your car and requires
some minor assembly before using. The
booster car seat has a built-in strap which
connects to your dog's harness.
Step 1:
Fasten the shorter of the two included straps to
one D-ring on the top back edge of the booster
seat. Loop this strap around the top of your car
seat head rest and connect to the outer D-ring
of the other side of the booster seat. You can
change the height of your booster seat by
adjusting this strap.
Step 2: Use
the longer of two included straps to connect to
the D-ring on the lower back support of the
booster seat. Loop this strap around your
vehicle's car seat and connect it to the D-ring
on the opposite side. You can tighten this strap
to secure it to the car seat.
Step 3:
There is a sewn-in strap on the booster seat
that connects quickly to your dog's harness. Always
use a harness with your car seat and NEVER attach straps to your dogs collar.
Note: You can also use the booster
seat in the rear seat provided your rear seat
has a head-rest installed. You would only have
to use Steps 1 and 3 above and not use the
longer strap as described in step 2.
